AVOWAL

CONSENT & ETIQUETTE RULES

At Avowal, it is every individual's choice whether to enter the play areas or to only explore the other areas on offer. Either way...

ALL THOSE ATTENDING AVOWAL MUST READ THE FOLLOWING...

Step into Avowal to explore, be curious, be respectful, and live a new experience.

Hold space for others to voice their needs and desires. And experience the same in return.

We love risk takers, but not rule breakers. Non-compliance will result in blacklisting — it is imperative for everyone attending to abide by the following rules for a great night.

____________________

NO PHONES
No phones or recording devices allowed past coat check.

RESPECT ALL
Respectful body and verbal language is a must towards all attendees and staff.

Be respectful of all ages, genders, sexual orientations, backgrounds, body shapes, and abilities.

Staff require the same respect and communication as guests. They are no more or less consensual by choosing to work at Avowal.

Be aware of other’s personal space. Only invited touch is accepted.

SAFE SEX
Practice safer sex by using condoms, dental dams, and other barrier methods.

RAISE A HAND (our main rule)
Raise the palm of your hand to deny a request, advancement, or to stop an action already in motion. No reason is required when raising a hand, so do not ask for one.

VERBAL TRAFFIC LIGHT SYSTEM

When in play, use the following "safe" words...
.
Green means “yes, I love it”.
.
Orange means “slow down / pause” + give a reason.

. Red means “stop, I’ve had enough”.

ATTENDEES MUST...
. Exercise curiosity.

. Take satisfaction in giving pleasure, not just receiving it.

. Enjoy looking after their physical and mental wellbeing — this does not mean you have to be typically fit, but groomed and comfortable in your own skin.

. Be mindful of the effects of alcohol and drugs on consent.

. Attune themselves to verbal and body language. Silence does not imply consent.

. Discuss boundaries and have regular check-ins with partners before entering the main event space.

. Communicate boundaries including areas of the body you like or dislike being touched, pressure, speed, language style, and if you’re happy for others to possibly join or if the focus should be kept on you.

. Gain the consent and confirmation of sterilisation from the owner of a sex toy before using it.

NO SOLO-WANKING
Do not solo-wank. Voyeurism is the sexual interest of watching others, and is allowed. However, solo-wanking is only allowed with the prior consent of those you’re enjoying.

RED FLAGS
. The exertion of negative attributes or the use of coercive language.
. Being noticeably intoxicated.
. Anyone playing with someone noticeably intoxicated will be blacklisted.

FEEL SEXY
We love expressive lingerie and kink attire. Genitals may be on show but wrap it up for the dance floor.

COMMUNICATE WITH STAFF
Staff are identifiable by a TN.W armband. If you need something, feel uncomfortable, or see someone else that appears uncomfortable please talk to a staff member. Staff will offer their discreet assistance.

TAKE CARE
Look after yourself and others. Dance and learn. Acknowledge and declare your wants and desires for this evening’s adventure.
